Daniel Hacker traded hockey skates for steel-toes, evolving his pro hockey grit into leadership of a fast-growing construction firm. When his father passed, Daniel and his brother Jerad stepped into leadership roles for their family company and made affordable, multifamily housing their mission.
Since then, they’ve grown H5 Construction fivefold, sustaining 30% year-over-year growth and providing over 40 employees with opportunity and competitive benefits. Beyond the jobsite, Daniel coaches youth hockey, passing on lessons of discipline and teamwork, and honors his father through Jimbo’s Wish, an annual ALS golf tournament funding home modifications for Alaskans in need.
For Daniel, success is never his alone — it’s a shared family legacy built on teamwork, resilience and care for others.
Danie’s Leadership Lessons:
- Surround yourself with a good team.
- Don’t be reactive when absorbing information.
- Provide opportunities for others to grow.
